Questions and Answers

What is StealthKote?

It is a spray-on sound and vibration damping liquid.

Why do I need StealthKote?

StealthKote stops noise and vibrations at the source instead of covering them up. This liquid dampening product can reach areas that traditional mat products cannot thus eliminating voids or seams that would allow pass through. There are no foul odors and it cleans up with soapy water. Spray it on like paint and it dries to a hard surface in about 2 hours.

Where do I use StealthKote?

Limousines, RV's, buses, engine compartments, vibration feeder units, stamping machines, air handlers, ducting, or anywhere you have a structure born noise problem.

How is StealthKote packaged?

Samples come as small as a quart. Standard containers are 1, 2 & 5 gallon buckets. Bulk shipments in 55 gallon drums are available upon request.

Does StealthKote dry hard or expand when it dries?

StealthKote is water based so it will dry to a very hard scratch resistant finish. It's also what-you-see-is-what-you-get. That means the way it looks when you spray it on is the way it's going to stay.

How much do I need to apply?

We suggest a final thickness of 1/8 inch. Wait until the product is dry-to-the-touch before recoating. For damping thick substrates, StealthKote needs to be one-third the thickness of the material being coated to perform optimally.

Do I have to spray it on?

No you can roll it, pour it, or brush it on any way you see fit. Sometimes it is easier to brush it on or roll it on. It will go on much thicker spraying than brushing.

Can I paint over it?

Yes, after about 7 days, the surface is completely safe to paint. You can even sand, prime, and prep it as normal automotive work would require.
